The weather for today’s work party was cool, dry and cloudy with some brightness later. There were 11 participants for some or all of the work party.
We concentrated on felling a number of previously marked up trees, mainly Norway Maple, followed by stump treatment. The felled timber was mostly moved to reinforce (dead hedge) the original western boundary of the wood, immediately south of the point where the perimeter turns sharply SE. At the same time, two volunteers worked on removal of some smaller Norway Maple saplings at the border on the east side of the wood. The 2019 work party dates were added to the notice boards, and a small amount of rubbish was taken down to Peveril Drive at the end of the work party.
