Today we held a hastily rescheduled work party following cancellation last week because of storm Boelo. Numbers were reduced because of a clash with school half term, but nevertheless 6 of us enjoyed the lovely weather this morning. Richard and Diane fought thorny matter to remove guards from the remaining stretch of whips towards the southern end of the eastern boundary – well done. Meanwhile the rest of us continued dead hedging to block a couple of gaps in the western boundary, near the northern entrance. There was plenty of dead wood lying around, and we drove in some additional posts to support the dead-hedge. Also, a recently uprooted tree provided an excellent length of path edging, which we staked down to fill a gap. Thanks to all involved.
This was the first work party since we moved all our tools to the excellent new storage room at the Community Hall. Thanks to David, and to Phil earlier, for keeping our wheelbarrows and tools in their gardens and sheds.
