David and I spent a couple of hours at the Wood this morning clearing the way for planting donated whips, hopefully at the next regular work party on 24th November. The aim is to re-enforce the eastern boundary, inside the new fence, by planting hedgerow trees. The brush-cutter was used to clear perennials, quite dense in places with some bramble, along a narrow strip stretching some 150m south of where we finished planting last winter. In addition, some small overhanging branches were trimmed to allow more light to the whips.
