Todays’ Work Party led by Bill consisted of Mike, Sal, welcome newcomers Jane and Jamie with Nick kindly providing us with 2 scythes from Skylarks on which he gave a demonstration of safe use. On the way down to the path for clearing we moved one of the fallen trees partially blocking the central path, but the tree trunk proved too much although we did manage to move it slightly off the path.
We then managed to clear the worst of the vegetation encroaching on the central path and Jane trimmed overhanging vegetation from the west path. There was some litter in places, but Bill cleared a bag full from the Zone 5 hilltop, which he will report to the Council.
Nick was confident that we will need to repeat the vegetation clearing at our next work party on 25 July.
