11 volunteers today in fine weather, thankfully without the heat of recent weeks. A special welcome to Becky, visiting from New Zealand, and new recruit Allister. Although the main focus was keeping the paths clear of encroaching vegetation (in particular the stretch outside the wood below the southern entrance), we also tackled a few other small jobs. A gap in the boundary on the eastern side that had been created in recent weeks was blocked with fallen logs and brash; a few invasive Norway Maple and Sycamore saplings were “popped” by the side of the eastern path; a few redundant stakes were retrieved from one of the trial planting areas; and some mounds arising from anti-social behaviour were levelled.. Thanks to all.
