13 volunteers today enjoyed some decent weather, with shelter from the north-easterly. We were pleased to welcome newcomers Oliver, Matthew and Cameron. Continuing where we left off at the February work party, we coppiced suitable trees and picked up recently fallen branches to provide path edging and stakes to hold it down.
As a result, we completed path edging along the main path from the board walk to the northern entrance (bar a little bit by the notice board), linking up with the edging where the eastern path joins. We also extended edging southwards a short distance from the bridge. Brash was used to bolster dead hedges. Plenty of energy was expended sawing, carrying material to where required, sharpening stakes with billhooks, and hammering in stakes. In addition, a certain amount of litter was collected and David distributed some more stones to muddy areas of the paths. Thanks to all
