A successful work party of 7 volunteers on Sunday in pleasant, if hot for the work involved, conditions.
John and Richard sprayed several sycamores and maples for removal in the autumn/winter, running out of one can of yellow paint before joining the other group. Also a number of Wych Elm were marked up for for coppicing.
The other group worked on the eastern boundary tending to the whips, working from the NE corner south. We were very pleased to welcome Katy and Jack to their first work party and they mainly dealt with overhanging branches to give more light for the whips. Most of the whips are doing well, but there are still more that need to be checked at a future work party.
