Todays’ Work Party was split into 2 sub-groups to comply with the ‘Rule of 6’, one sub-group led by Bill and the other by Richard. Bill, Mike and Lucie took water for the trial planting areas, but first joined in with Rod and a couple of neighbours to bag a large amount of litter collected off the main path. They also came across a wooden pallet that had been broken up further down the main path and took this, with David’s help, to the Peveril bin. Trees in trial areas 1 and 3 in Zone 3, trees in “the triangle”, and a few isolated trees in zone 4 were watered.
Richard and Tim continued with the path edge maintenance in the NE of the wood (Zone 2), while Rosa and Laurette completed the clearance of vegetation around the whips planted on the eastern boundary of the wood, starting where they left off in March in Zone 2, and moving south into Zone 4. Lucie joined the path edging team later on.
