Reasonable weather for our work party, the first of 2026. We were sheltered from the south-easterly, and rain kept away until we were nearly finished. On this occasion we welcomed new DofE candidate Leo and his dad. A total of 13 volunteers allowed us to tackle several jobs. The main effort was in the north-west sector, coppicing a number of trees to harvest material for path edging, as well as boosting some of the dead-hedge helping to protect the western boundary. Several good lengths of path edging were installed south of the board walk. Bill, with assistance, carried out a number of tasks further south, including removal of some rubbish and trimming back encroaching vegetation on one of the paths. Richard led a small group cutting back some of the Wild Privet towards the southern entrance. The tasty biscuits that Mike handed out during the drinks break were much appreciated.
