Work party 22/02/26

Incredibly good weather for the time of year allowed us to complete a successful winter’s programme of woodland work, before bird nesting gets underway. There were 11 of us today, harvesting more material for improving the path edging on the central path, south of the bridge. In fact, edging now extends very nearly as far as where the west path joins. Small trees (mostly Sycamore) were taken from the area close to the northern end of the western path, the timber being used for the edging itself and stakes to hold it in place. The onset of spring meant that we were accompanied by a fair amount of bird song, including Song Thrush, Skylark (over the fields) and Dunnock. A pair of noisy Buzzards were seen overhead when we arrived. Thanks to all involved
