On Friday 27 October we had a visit from the Keyworth u3a Wildlife and Conservation group who regularly visit local nature reserves such as ours. Fortunately, the weather was much drier than of late when John Elwell and Bill Logan walked the group around the wood pointing out the impact of the development on Sharphill and what our group has been doing over time to preserve the wood. The group showed particular interest in the fungi proliferating on the live and fallen trees. In thanking us for the tour, the u3a gave us a generous £30 donation under our poetry project. A successful day all round.
