The Sharphill Wood dawn chorus walk went ahead on a fine but chilly morning and at full capacity (6 participants including leader). Most of the common woodland birds were in full voice, particularly Wren, Robin, Blackcap and Chiffchaff. We had glimpses of a number of birds, including both woodpecker species – Green Woodpecker was calling regularly throughout the visit and Great Spotted Woodpecker was heard calling and drumming.
