Nothing exceptional to report, although it was disappointing that I found no sign of Treecreeper or Nuthatch, and only an uncertain call of Great Spotted Woodpecker. Green Woodpecker constantly calling and a brief view of Jay. Chiffchaffs common, but no sign of Blackcap yet. Wrens abundant and plenty of Stock Doves. The main surprise was Linnet singing opposite the kissing gate – although they are residents, I don’t normally find them here until later.
