Bat walk, 6 August 2021

0

Led by John Parker, Chair of the Nottinghamshire Bat Group, we toured the wood after John described the bats known in the County (see image), explaining their life cycles and mating. We were then treated to detecting Noctule, Soprano and Common Pipistrelle bats. Having detected and seeing the bats on the way up to the wood, we topped it off with seeing 3 or 4 Common Pipistrelles actually in the wood as we left on the central path.
