Bat boxes occupied

0

In January the Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust kindly erected 8 new bat boxes in the wood. NWT have now been back to check the boxes and have recorded 1x brown long-eared bat in box SH4 & 1x pipistrelle in box SH7. This is very good news as it proves the bats have found the boxes.

NWT say it usually takes much longer for the first bats to be recorded and they are very optimistic that we will will have more later in the year. This time of year is the maternity season, so bat numbers tend to be low as they’ll all be in their breeding colonies. NWT will check the boxes again later in the year, once the colonies have dispersed
