The Guide Leader Jessica offered to carry out a litter pick on the evening of 20th June, which was very gratefully accepted by the Friends. StreetWise very kindly offered the Guides litter pickers and other kit to help them, and on a lovely fine evening they carried out a thorough sweep of their chosen area.
Chrissie from the Friends greeted them and thanked them for taking seriously their responsibilities as future guardians of nature and the environment in contrast to many who are concerned only with their “rights” in using the Wood however they wish.
To thank the Guides in a small way, they were shown where the bat boxes have been erected and given information packs about the species seen in the Wood and in Notts generally.
